Torn Paper Collage number 120, I had this lovely frame and mat, recycled it and created this picture to fit it. Trying my hand at Degas the Blue Dancers, he is one of my favorite artists, I love doing studies of his work.
Virginia Splender Torn Paper Art, collage made of thousands of tiny hand torn bits of recycled magazine paper. Each tiny piece is layered and adhered to a stretch canvas with simple diluted elmers glue. Finished with a final coat of gel medium for protection.

I loved playing in the sand, this is layer upon layer of tiny pieces of torn magazine pieces, you could play in the sand for hours, the more tiny pieces the better the sand looked.
These are in my window at the moment, but I'm sure they will make there way to a new home soon.

I did this one from a special request, my friend provided me with some special paper that I was able to incorporate into the piece. This one is number 97. Creeping up to the 100th picture in this medium, and still finding it rewarding.
Got asked to do a picture of a sunflower. I had always wanted to see if I could recreate the fibonacci sequence in the center of the sunflower. This was quite the challenge, I hope I was able to capture the pattern. This one was fun.
This work is exclusively created in an impressionistic style, using only tiny bits of torn paper, layered to look as if painted, until closer examination reveals its true medium. "God is the artist, I am merely an apprentice, one of many blessed with studying His works."
