Using tiny bits of torn magazine and miscellaneous scrap paper to create a "painting" without using paint.

This is my most recent study. I'm enjoying this one, it's hanging in my living room. Recreated out of torn magazine paper, hand torn and layered to create a painted look.
Hi Terri, Great to see your work! This piece especially is beautiful. Came to your site via Elizabeth Nelson's. I also have been working with magazine paper and Color Aid paper to create paper collages... It's GREAT to see another artist's work in this medium! Really love this piece -- Thank you for sharing!
Kathy - thank you so much for your kind words, don't you just feel so connected to the work, I just love knowing that I have touched each and every piece of torn paper on the canvas, I've always loved those who can create sculptures, I guess I just need to touch and feel the connection to my art and this medium fills that need nicely.
This study was so special to me, knowing that The Lady With The Fan was one of two paintings left on his easels and was possibly the last completed work before his death, I just loved working on it, with all the color and intricate designs
what beautiful work!

ReplyDeleteThe gold backrgound is so vibrant, and the blending of the skin tones is so wonderful! I really love your work!
